I am a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher. In my classes, explore fundamental poses in the Iyengar method with an emphasis on proper alignment for a safe and vigorous practice. Grow body awareness and a capacity for mindfulness as you gain mobility, strength, and stability. As a welcome bonus, learn to relax as well.
Become acquainted with the depth and breadth of Iyengar Yoga, a powerful and sophisticated discipline which can be practiced in all stages of life. Bravely dive into these ancient yoga poses which have an almost magical ability to build strength, length, stability, confidence, and to encourage deep relaxation. With a focus on alignment and systematic intelligence, students explore a direct experience of Yoga, as developed and discovered by Yogacharya BKS Iyengar. Through skilled instruction and practice, students learn to penetrate beyond the physical body to the inner kosas (layers) of mind, energy and spirit, gaining vitality, clarity and calm through the practice. The benefits are far-reaching and will assist the practitioner in every aspect of daily living.

Iyengar Level 1
Build strength, length, stability and confidence. Become acquainted with the depth and breadth of Iyengar yoga with a practice of poses fundamental to the method, including standing postures, forward extensions, backward extensions, lateral extensions, and inversions. We’ll practice poses within the Sarvangasana (shoulderstand) family, a pose which is central to the practice of Iyengar Yoga.
Iyengar Level 2
Bravely dive in to more intermediate yoga postures! Sirsasana (headstand) is practiced along with Sarvangasana (shoulderstand) variations. Plus we’ll focus more on deeper twists and more advanced backward extensions. Level 1 poses are practiced more deeply and with more refinement.

I am a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, honored to have both the opportunity and responsibility of carrying forth the tradition of yoga sādhana (practice) in the lineage of BKS Iyengar. I help students bravely dive into these ancient yoga poses which have an almost magical ability to increase mobility, strength, stability, and encourage deep relaxation.
Once I came to yoga, there was no going back. The benefits are too real to pass up this life-changing practice. Sure, there are physical benefits, but as my yoga sādhana deepens and the eight petals of yoga open before me, I become more aware of how much comfort the philosophical aspects of yoga can provide, and how much the practice overall calms the mind and spirit, and eliminates suffering bit by bit.
In 2016, I traveled to India to study yoga with the Chanchanis, who have studied yoga with the Iyengars for decades. Afterwards I completed a 500-hour teacher training at Albuquerque, NM’s most established yoga studio—High Desert Yoga—and continue to study weekly with my teacher Kim Schwartz. I also hold special certifications (outside of the Iyengar Yoga system) in Prenatal Yoga, Trauma-Informed Yoga for Youth, and Senior Yoga.
In 2018, I received my certification as a CIYT (Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher), after traveling to the Denver, Colorado area regularly to work with Leslie Bradley and Craig Kurtz, who teach weekly classes and Iyengar Yoga teachers in the Iyengar tradition.
I have studied with many teachers who have spent time with BKS Iyengar himself, including Rajiv Chanchani, Patricia Walden, Francois Raoult, and Ramanand Patel. I look forward to one day traveling to Pune, India to study with the Iyengars in person.
